What you thought Christmas was over...

Bo was thrilled when he heard the news that my parents where coming! Can you tell?

More gifts from the parents guess what one of Eric's was....Hint.. look at the scruff on his face!

We met my parents in Boise for some shopping the day after Christmas, all the guys left us after a couple hours. I stayed with my mom...almost 9 hours of shopping!!! That will make even the most skilled shoppers exhausted. (Trust me I know!) When we got home we opened gifts made a big mess and had dinner! Can you tell I can't wait to clean up!!

Poor Mace. A hard day of shopping at the mall!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas morning always comes too early!!! This year was no exception! Mace would NOT go to sleep Christmas Eve even after a long car ride! Eric and I finally passed out and we found Maycee out in the family room at 3A.M. checking out what Santa had brought. Luckily she didn't unwrap any gifts! Kyi sleeps like a log so he was up at the crack of dawn...UGGG I'm sorry mom and dad, I know I did the same to my parents!! It's not fun. I woke up with the biggest headache and Eric was hardly functioning! Even though we suffered from lack of sleep the day was wonderful and the kids had a great morning which means we did too!
Miss Maycee with her Fairy wings!

Kyi Begged for Boots! He was thrilled!!

Yep... that's really my hair, and yeah it does look like a wig!!

I think she's mocking us! GO TO BED MAYCEE!!! We still had gifts to wrap!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYI PIE!

Kyi's story began on Dec. 2nd 2002. I remember having a Dr. appointment that afternoon then spending most of the day shopping. My parents wanted me to go to Utah with them to see my grandparents off on their mission. There was no way I was going! I had 3 weeks to my due date and being stuck in a mini van for 3 hours was not going to happen. On their way out of town they stopped by The Dr.'s office, to try and catch me and talk me into going. I had left already. The Doctor told them I would be fine to go if I wanted to. When I got home that evening I was flipping through channels, Not having cable left me nothing to watch but "Fear Factor" and that's when it happened. The sharpest, stabbing pain I have ever felt in my lower abdomen. This pain went away then returned a few minutes later and no this was not from the nasty thing I was watching the contestants eat! I called my family but they where out of range, I called a friend who took me to the hospital. I had two amazing friends there to help me through the delivery. Karen and Zeke!!! what would I have done without them! They were the best coaches and support I could have had! THANK YOU! Zeke video tapped and Karen cut the cord. Kyi's delivery was the easiest and most relaxing delivery ever...besides the cramping, burning, stretching & ripping. I was wishing my epidural had worked where I needed most!
Kyi was born at 10:28p.m. that evening after only a short 3 hour labor!
I finally got a hold of my grandparents to let them know that I had just given birth and to let my parents know when they got there...I received a call soon after from my mom, I let her know I was thankful I had not giving birth on the side of the freeway in a mini van!
Look at this guy!!! I have to say it was worth it! Kyi has brought so much to our lives. He is so Witty and smart! He has such a loving heart and eager to please unless it has to do with chores!! He has the ability to make us laugh at anytime and is always willing to laugh at himself! This guy has talent beyond his years. He can do anything he sets his mind to! Kyi has taught me many lessons about life and not to worry about the small stuff. He keeps me on my toes as well as on my knees as I pray for guidance to be the mother he needs me to be.
WE LOVE YOU KYI PORTER!!!
Kyi at 3 1/2

Kyi at 2 1/2 and Teylar 2 1/2

Me 8 months pregnant with Kyi and Callie 5 months pregnant with Teylar at our baby shower.

Just a few extra....

My parents brought this deadly catch back from their cruise last month for the kids. We celebrated Kyi's birthday during our visit so It was time to pull out the foolishness and mayhem.
I think this may have been the very moment this seemed not to be such a good idea....

Oh, road trips...I hate to stop, unless you are going to pee your pants. I try to pack everything we need and then some!

While I was packing, Bo kept Maycee busy. Thanks bo!!

AWWW... I just thought this one was cute!!! Bo must have tuckered Miss Mace out!

Thanksgiving weekend

New Moon

It's 2:00 a.m. do you know where your wife or mother is? Duh, "New Moon", of course! This soon to be nationally observed holiday known to the dedicated fans as, "National Twilight Saga Day" ( okay so I made that up, but I love holidays!) celebrates the coming together of the dead, dogs, the clumsiest of girls, hot moms, desperate house wives, and seriously more than a few men for one united purpose, to see Taylor Launter without a shirt on...( hello Mr. Hot pants!) I have to say this movie brought a lot to the table and I'm not talking about those poor unexpecting tourists! There were cheers, tears, and did I mention Taylor Lautner looking like a fresh piece of meat...yum! k, I'm done I promise!! ( for now)
Monica O., Me, and Stacy R. waiting in anticipation, Umm, I have to mention we got perfect seats. I was thinking to myself, " why Jacob, what big musc....Eyes you have..."!

Look at all those faces, not bad for the early morning hours knowing we have to get kids up at 7:00 a.m. and off to school! I'm pretty sure we were all thinking the same thing...It's okay for my husband to go to the gym right after work for 3 hours, I can handle the kids. It will give me more reading time and my husband could mutate into a hot-super tan-hairless-teenage werewolf.
I have to make myself clear at this point in my posting, I am more team Edward, you can't fight fate. Poor sweet sculpted Jacob never got a chance, he never made it to the play offs, so really there is no team Jacob... don't worry those big brown eyes though, your lady in waiting will soon be in a theater near you, and shes H...ybride (and hot) and lets face it Bella, younger!

Until then I must leave you, I'm no good for you...
I'll see you in June [Mr.] so don't do anything reckless!

Veteran's Day

This month and this day 2 years ago Eric was boarding a plane in the middle of the night to return home from his deployment in the middle east. Thanks to the good friends and bloody football games that kept Eric busy while away from home!
Eric's crib in the desert!

Aww.. a little bit of home in D.C.

Eric at the pier, no volleyball and bikinis on this beach!
Just a super sexy sailor!

James Langworthy was my mothers cousin who lost his life in Vietnam.
Thank you to all who serve, have served and the families that sustain them and have grieved for them. we love you and pray for you.

What I'm Thankful for....not in any order...

1. My understanding of my purpose on this earth and the every day opportunities to have my understanding expanded.

2. My family. The joy these people bring to me and others is nothing but delightful! Watching my children grow with strong healthy bodies, minds, and spirits is wonderful!

3. The United States of America, "One nation under God".

4. My sweet husband, who serves his family, community, country, and most important his Father in Heaven. This guy loves with no reservations and is a ambassador for kindness. He is so humble and willing to to fail in order to succeed. Integrity never takes a back seat.

5. My parents, I love to give these guys a hard time...My parents are some of the most open people I have ever met. My mom has taught me "what the heck, what do you have to loose?"! and to always find a way to be resourceful. Where there's a will there is a way! My dad, is a lot like my husband and one of the hardest working men I have ever met. He has an infectious laugh, and a great personality. Patients should be his middle name.

6. My Grandma, This woman is simply incredible and should be an example to young women everywhere. She is irresistibly cute, unbelievingly kind, patient, Intelligent, WELL EDUCATED, loving, talented, I could go on and on!!! I'm grateful she married my grandfather and loves him. she is one of the best parts of our family!

7. My grandfather, without this man our family might not have the knowledge of the restored gospel. He is a man of courage, strength, and an ability to always be right...even the 1 time he was wrong;) Gramps is a "man's man" but not beneath learning to quilt, to court a hot lady! Most would say he's a tough guy, but he is one of the most loving and soft hearted men I know. He understands mercy, and the Saviors love for man kind. My grandfather went from being a Marine serving his nation to having a family, to being a single dad and raising his children on his own. His children adore him. He and his kids(8 yrs old) were baptized on the same day in to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and have lived it sense. He loves his wife and will into eternity with everything he has as well as the rest of his family. He will be forever giving service, loving little children, and finding joy in his posterity as we make choices that make us one big eternal family! With NO excuses!

8. My home, small not fancy, but ours. This home keeps us warm at night, provides a place for protection from the world, and a place to make and keep memories.

9. Prayer is a wondrous gift! I'm so thankful to be able to kneel and pray to Our Father in Heaven and plead to him, give thanks and praise Him, I'm thankful I'm never alone.

10. My Father in Heaven, The Savior, & The Spirit. I'm so thankful for the love, eternal guidance, and mercy I can't express the gratitude I have...The hymn; "how Great Though Art" always comes to mind. I'm thankful for my testimony of a living Savior who died in order for us to overcome the pitfalls and just plain human NESS , to live with our Heavenly Father who loves us and waiting for our return so we can live together as, once again an eternal family.

11. My body and mind for the functions they do flawlessly and the ability to grow and respond to my growing needs.

12. talents I have and the talents of others.

13. The act of service and the blessings that come.

14. Good friends who lift up spirits and make you laugh 'til you might pee your pants. I'm thankful to be a friend and value and love people who can do the same.

15. Trials, that give me perspective and the ability to find my way and test me to limits I didn't know was possible.

16. lessons learned...over and over again!

17. Smiles, something so simple that we all have and can give away freely, wither it comes from our faces or our souls!

18.character, it's what we are and how we get to the next step...

19.dishwashers... if you know me you know why!

2o.Surprises, Mostly the good ones...it usually means someone was thinking of you, or you have the chance to bring a burst of joy to someone else!

I could go on but my husband is waiting for me to get off the computer and give him some attention!!!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LIFE!

Happy Halloweeners!

Normally Halloween isn't my favorite. But this year I have to say was pretty fun! Not for any real reason, just watching the kids get dressed up and enjoy themselves! We went trunk or treating on Friday night lots of cuties on the hunt for candy! Saturday we went trick or treating then out to dinner with the Dummars.

The Dummar kids and ours decided that Bo needed to get into the Halloween spirit and did their best to dress him up...Thanks Bo, for taking one for the team!!!
Kyi was a G.I. Joe and Maycee was a ladybug. They were so tired by the time we went trick or treating, pictures were the last thing they wanted to do! Oh well, this is my favorite part!

tiny dancer

Maycee started ballet last month! It has been so fun to watch her "on a new stage" ! We really like her teacher (Miss Kim), she is so fun and has the ability to wrap those little girls around her little finger.

So, Mace is usually an easy going spirit and loves to please. Not so in ballet! I think I should have put her in interpretive dance instead. Maycee has her own ideas of what she would like the class to be. I finally bribed her with a new barbie if she would stay on her sticker and listen to Miss Kim...It worked she was so excited about the barbie she did her best in class and I think she had lots of fun! (plus a new barbie what's better than that. )

Labor Day weekend

Ty, Maycee, Kyi, and Christian

This was just a sweet moment Kyi and I had, Eric just happened to get a picture of it.

Kyi was so funny, he wanted me out on the water with him to help.

Kyi getting some pointers from mom

We took off to Owyhee again for Labor Day weekend and had lots of fun! we were suppose to have two more families go with us, but they weren't able to make it last minute. As much as we missed them and wish they could have come we pulled together and had a great time long days out on the water and way too much FOOD. The weather was pretty good, until Sunday when it
got pretty yucky that afternoon.

The BIG 3-0

I have to say THANK YOU to all of my FANTASTIC friends who were able to celebrate my birthday. I was so touched to see them there and the effort they took to make this day so much fun! I am so grateful for all of you and want you to know that you are the most incredible women I have ever met! This defiantly made turning 30 one of the best days ever! A special thank you to Tiffany, Stacy, and Rebecca for all of your efforts and to everyone else...Your the BEST!!!

I was told to dress up formal and get a sitter and Rebecca would arrive to pic me up...
We met at Edwards and blind folded we arrived at Lake Lowell in our dresses and all, a couple of guys asked what was going on and who's birthday it was. I replied that it was my birthday and he asked how old I was...Of coarse this is a loaded question...I asked how old he thought I was...This guy was smarter than he looked his reply...22 ...(YES!)Well I had to tell him I was 30 and to that he said welcome to the club... (UGGG!)
We boarded the boat to find out that it should have been a cruise considering all the amazing food aboard! We played a game of "Truth or Dare" we had to tell the truth and dive into the water (in our dress or not) or accept a dare which would be far worse. We probably learned too much about each other! Then the "Paparazzi" gave us a few good screams! We had so much fun and so much food!!!

kyi's first day of 1st grade!

Ahhh! I can't believe how time goes by... I remember when Kyi was just a little round bald chub. My dad said he looked just like "Uncle Fester" I hate to admit it but he did! He was dang cute though! Kyi tried not to act scared but it was written all over his face! He survived his 1st day now on to the rest of the year! WE LOVE YOU KYI!!!

Happy "late" Birthday Maycee!

Happy Birthday Mace!
3 years old
So I am about a month and a day late posting Maycee's birthday...The good news...I found the battery charger for the camera! It has been put in a "safe" place for most of the summer. Now I can try to stay on top of our blog!
I can't believe we have had Miss Maycee for three years, still when I look back at her baby picture it seems like forever ago! She has gotten so big and silly!
who knew that sweet little baby would turn into a wild three year old -streaking down -the- sidewalk little "princess" (her word, not mine)!
She has been so much fun, I Remember crying in my ultrasound when we found out she was a girl. We had some trials previously, so we decided to wait to get pregnant and really plan our next pregnancy out and be prepared for anything. After about 5 months and a dog later ( dogs don't fill the void of a baby, they just pee on your carpet) I decided I couldn't wait anymore and told Eric we were going to get pregnant...With a girl this time! Umm...Honestly I'm not sure how excited he was at the time, but I knew it was right. 5 weeks later we found out that I was pregnant. At that moment I thought,"what the crap have I done I hate being pregnant!" too late! We had to wait 'til the end of my second trimester for that ultrasound, and I was for sure it was a boy...Eric was willing to place bets for a girl. He won! Maycee was due the end of August but chose to arrive a month early, I guess she knew we were excited to meet her!
she came via an emergency Cesarean, at the last minute before they were to break my water. The nurse asked if she could do an ultrasound she said she felt like she needed to, something seemed off. Sure enough Maycee was breach
(this is the short version of that story!)
We are so grateful for Maycee and the sweet spirit she has brought into our home. I am grateful for the comfort we had been blessed, not to worry about the pregnancy any birth of this little spirit who had a special place in our family. We can't wait to watch her grow into a young woman and venture off onto her own path in this big world, I pray that we will have taught both our children the principles of the gospel and they might feel their Savior's Love for them.
Raising children isn't easy and I will willingly except that I am a huge whiner about this experience, although I complain I wouldn't change a thing not even the trials that have been placed before us. I'm humbled that I have an opportunity to raise children at this time, even though I wonder if they might be schooling me more often than not!

Happy 4th of July!

The Forth was full of sun, fun, and fireworks! (thanks mom!!!)
The Dummar's and the Ambrose family were back out on the water for another day of "someone grab the baby here we go!" this tube replaced a tube that was ripped last time.
Side note....never send a guy out to buy a tube if you want it to be safe!
The "paparazzi" was one of the deadliest but funniest tubes I have ever been on! By the time we were done with this stupid tube most of us were too pooped to even attempt wake boarding! We got back around 6 p.m. showered and took a nap before putting on a show for friends and family! Nephi and Eric were in heaven and the show lasted well after midnight! Great job boys!
The next morning I woke up and thought I might have been paralyzed from the neck down. I honestly have never been so tore up in my life! I called Tiffany and asked how she was doing...she had been in bed all day!!
The guys were just fine, they fell off that thing way more than us!! Next time guys..next time!!

dylan Jackson

Mr. dylan at 4 weeks
We went to Idaho Falls this weekend to visit family and interduce Kyi and Maycee to their new cousin! It was love at 1st sight! How can you resist a face like that! I would have put him in my purse and brought him home with me, but I know my husband would have made me give him back. I think Katie and Brian would know something was missing too!

Sweet is the Work!

The girls thought this was appropriate attire for 1st aid certification!

Cute Girls!!!

That ape just body slammed the chicken.
I think I laid an egg!
ouch!

Cast of Hairspray?

What up yo!

It's a jungle out there!

happy camper!

These two caused some ruckus!

two of the best Jr. leaders!

our girls

Oops! That monkey wasn't crate trained!
we were laughing to0 hard!
Tiffany you're awesome!

Best ward camp Director!

gotcha!

What?
us?

This year I was asked to do 1st year certification for the stake! I think you can tell we had lots of fun! I had the chance to work with the best group of Jr. leaders, 15
to be exact! and 39 1st years!
Some of my best memories are from girls camp, so I was thrilled when I was asked to go! camp is a place where you learn so much about yourself and recognizing the potential you have to be self sufficient, outgoing and willing to make new life long friends, most important to feel the Spirit and the love that our Father in Heaven has for each one of his daughters young and old. What a wonderful place to experience these things! We are all so different and have been blessed with lots of amazing talents. It is interesting to how so many females can live together outside with no showers and questionable toilets for a week.
I think we showed the girls a good time and what girls camp is all about...and maybe a couple leaders too!

June Rush!

Grandpa playing wii
Gramps is a serious competitor, I don't think there isn't a sport he can't play and beat you at!

What the heck happened to June? We have been running around like crazy and have had lots of family in town to visit! Kyi is an official big kid! kind of... He has graduated from kindergarten and lost his 1st tooth all in one day! I was so excited for him, I remember being one of the last out of all of my friends to loose my 1st tooth. I had lost my very first tooth and was overjoyed at the gaping hole it had left I was beaming with pride while I walked to my friends house to show off my new and more spacious grill... she was not impressed the slightest she was way ahead looking like a jack-o-lantern!! Dang!
Side note... the Tooth fairy needs to pay more attention to how much change she puts under the pillow... I could have swore she only left a $1. Kyi woke up to more... I guess the tooth fairy had a long night!
We also had our favorite visitors come stay with us for a couple of days! My grandparents spent some time with us playing Wii and fixing Maycee's broken down trike! Thanks Gramps! after 2 trips to Lowe's and getting lost, (darn Garmin huh!) she has a sweet ride! It was nice to have the help and the company.
Jeremy also spent a few weeks with us. He has got to be the best kid in the world, I'm sure we bored him to tears! What a handsome boy! he let me cut his long curls off! It was a little sad but we got through it!

A day at the zoo

silly girl!
Oops! Should have rotated this one!

What a cutie!

Looking at the monkey on the other side of the glass!

We went to the zoo last week and had such a good time. It seems like I don't get out and do fun things with the kids like I used. They were so much fun and were both able to walk on their own and enjoy all the fun exhibits. It was nice to have all my attention on them, I'm sure they didn't mind it either. They are growing up so fast! It's a lot easier to take them places now too! What a great day!!
lots more zoo pictures coming soon!

Memorial Day Weekend

I would have showed Eric!
The board showed me this time!
Kyi thought the water was too cold, umm... it was close to 70 degrees!

Maycee and Sariah

It's not that kind of camp.
weird, she's always so modest...
No she's not.

Crazy camp site... I'm sure the park ranger was glad when we left!

Good morning!

Baby Dylan

Dylan is here!!!!

Katie had her baby about a week early! We are so excited to meet this new guy and my kids finally have a cousin! We are so grateful Dylan has come to our family, the odds were stacked against my sister ever being able to have children. Katie was born to be a mom, she is so loving and compassionate. I have never met a child that doesn't love her! Brian is going to be a great dad and is so willing to be hands on in every way! Brian is an only child so it should be fun watching him with his very own baby boy! Congrats Katie and Brian!

Easter morning!

This Easter was a little crazy! I got home after midnight from Idaho Falls, unpacked, said hi to Eric went to sleep only to wake up to get Eric to the airport by 6a.m. the kids and I made it to church right before the sacrament came home after church took a long nap and had dinner with friends! Eric flew into Chicago 30 min. early with a short lay over which if you have ever flew to Chicago you know early and short layovers never happen! he made it to Atlanta got a periwinkle colored rental car and drove to Athens where he will be for a couple weeks.

Katie's baby shower!

Kate and Me

Katie got about 99% of everything she needed and then some!

Katie has lots of fun ladies at work that spoiled her rotten!

Mom, she is not that big seriously!

This weekend I made a trip to Idaho Falls to host my sister's baby shower! What a long trip! I was able to see both my brothers in Pocatello and lots of friends!
We are so happy for Katie and Brian, this is their 1st baby and Eric and my 1st nephew. (Dylan) is a blessing to our family! we can't wait to meet him

Soccer Season GO #12!

Kyi had his 1st soccer game of the season! Eric is coaching his team again and is having a lot of fun! We have lots of talent and kids who have lots of energy! Kyi really looks forward to soccer all year!

When the cats away the mice will play....

Umm... she walked into the living room looking like this! what's a girl to do? I hope she makes better career choices than her clothing choices.
her faces make me laugh!

kyi and I were looking for maycee, we found her in the play room asleep in her baby doll's play pen.

I got sweet suprise from Eric this week... flowers and a gift certificate! then he called and said he was extended a few more days!

Friday was girls night! We went to "He's just not that into you" It was really funny! It's always good to get out with the girls especially when Eric's gone for so long! We always try to get everyone out on girls nights, but it can be hard to spread the word! If you ever want to go, please give a shout out! The more the merrier!!!!!

Just some cute pics that remind me of last summer!

I have been thinking lately about all the experiences we have had while living here and thought I'd put a couple up from this summer! We have told a couple of people our big new and NO this post does not come with an ultrasound picture! Eric has gotten his medical waiver passed to go into the navy as active duty which means more time as a family (who would have thought!) This is really a big deal for our family and could change our lives tremendously! I am so happy for Eric this is what he has wanted since he was in the Army 10 years ago. The Navy Reserve has been such a wonderful experience and as you all know I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to make a difference. Eric has stayed so busy traveling all over the world and serving his country that he would like to to see where it takes him. We are taking it one step at a time and are going to be praying and fasting to make sure this is the Lord's will and not just our own. Since we are in no hurry we will take our time! To our friends and family we want to let you know we love you and we are so thankful for the support and kindness you have given us over the years! We have an incredible ward and great friends who have such an influence in our lives, thank you for everything!

After the service At Justin and Heather's home
Aunt Joan, Selena, Zachary, and Matt

Malia, Raven, Seirra, Zachary, and maycee

Eric is the shortest of all the cousins besides the two girls!

This month has been so busy! Eric has spent a couple weeks in NYC with the Navy, I chose to sit this one out! to some this could sound crazy to give up a trip to New York, but those who know me, know that being cold is not my thing. New York was cold!!! We returned home yesterday from Bend after spending the weekend there for Eric's grandmothers funeral. Shirley was one of the spunkiest, loving, and loved grandmas I have ever met! she would have been so happy to see all of her grandchildren in one room. It has taken over 20 years! I can honestly say we have an amazing family! We are from all walks of life and traveled from different places but we had one thing in common...LOVE. What a kind family! I just can't say enough about the energy that surrounded us as we gathered to say goodbye to a women who taught her children well and wanted wonderful things for them! her children have passed on those qualities.

Maycee helped make cookies! I think she's the only one who ate them.

When no one's looking....

Kyi likes to take pictures of himself... Someday this will be his punishment for using the camera without asking!

Food for thought!

We give our lives to that which we give our time. I have learned that it is very difficult, if not impossible to unclutter one’s life by starting at the top of the pile with the idea that the solution is to just get things sorted and better organized. It is nice to get better organized, but that is not enough. Much has to be discarded. We must actually get rid of it. To do this we need to develop a list of basics, a list of those things that are indispensable to our mortal welfare and happiness and our eternal salvation. This list must follow the gospel pattern and contain the elements needed for our sanctification and perfection. It must be the product of inspiration and prayerful judgment between the things we really need and thins we just want. It should separate need from greed. It must be our best understanding of those thins that are important as opposed to those things that are just interesting.
